"We specialize in residential plumbing and heating repairs, repairing leaking faucets, toilets, drains," says Stehling. "A typical day can be repair a leaking pipe in a wall, repairing a toilet that is leaking water, clogged, or replacing a toilet."
On a recent day Mr. Stehling installed two digital thermostats, replacing 30 year old thermostats containing mercury and repaired a zone valve that was not turning on the boiler during a call for heat.
"The end switch in the zone valve had a deposit of minerals that leached out of the heating system that was blocking the paddle that would push the contact in and turn on the boiler," he says, "clearing the deposits away resulted in a perfectly working zone valve and heating system."
Typical classifications of jobs fall into: no heat, no water, no hot water, water not draining. "I fix them all," says Stehling.
Containing water in the plumbing system is Mr. Stehling's job, both on the delivery side and the drainage side. He is also an expert in installing and maintaining hydronic heating systems, systems that contain water or steam and have various fittings and controls that require experience and knowledge to trouble shoot, quickly and cost effectively.
"I stock many common repair parts on the truck so most times I can make the fix without going to the supply house, this saves the customer time," says Mr. Stehling. "Having the parts on hand also enables me to services more customers in the course of the day."

Mr. Stehling performs annual cleaning and servicing of heating equipment. "If your heating equipment is in an advanced stage of disrepair or is very old I can point this out and provide an estimate for replacing the unit," he says. "I perform a heat loss analysis of your home and also measure your installed radiation, this will determine the size of your new boiler and ensure that the boiler will not be oversized. If the boiler is too big you will simply waste fuel and increase your fuel bill. In addition a larger boiler will cost more. Most folks have a boiler that is too big for the house, years ago bigger was better, now efficiency and proper sizing is better."
